Cloud9 Analytics Adds Jakobsen and DeRodeff as Senior VPs
Former Salesforce.com Executive and Bridgeway CTO Round Out Management Team
SAN MATEO, Calif., January 16, 2008 – Cloud9 Analytics, a provider of on-demand sales analytics applications, today added two high-profile, highly qualified executives to its management team to serve the exploding demand for the company’s sales analytics offerings. Per Brondum Jakobsen, formerly the vice president of product strategy at salesforce.com, is the new senior vice president of product management, and Stephan DeRodeff, previously the CTO at Bridgeway Systems, is the new senior vice president of engineering.
“We have seen enormous demand for our products since launching Cloud9 Analytics last year, signed many new customers, won industry awards and attracted the best-in-class talent,” said Swayne Hill, chief executive officer. “Bringing these two respected individuals onto our management team is an important step in our continuing drive to satisfy the need for applications that actually improve the performance of front-line sales teams.”
Per Brondum Jakobsen, senior vice president of product management, brings to Cloud9 Analytics more than 20 years of experience turning customer requirements into highly successful applications. Prior to joining Cloud9, Jakobsen led product management and development teams for enterprise vertical product offerings at salesforce.com, facilitating its recent success in both the large enterprise and financial services sectors. At salesforce.com, he designed and launched the first new vertical application for financial services; built a product required to attain salesforce.com’s large-scale enterprise customers; and led the company’s first successful acquisition in document management.
Prior to salesforce.com, Jakobsen managed product teams for several other Bay Area companies, including Sigaba, Ventaso and Onwire Technologies. He also spent ten years with Oracle where he ran product management for the tools division, designing a set of cross-platform UI report writers and report servers, and Developer/2000, Oracle's flagship development toolset.
”Cloud9 Analytics is the first company to deliver on-demand analytic applications directly to business users with no implementation requirements,” said Jakobsen. “Just as salesforce.com did with CRM applications, we’re breaking down technology barriers to put more power in the hands of the people responsible for business results.”
Stephan DeRodeff, senior vice president of engineering, brings to Cloud9 more than 25 years of high technology engineering and business management experience. Most recently, DeRodeff was chief technology officer at Bridgeway Systems, heading up the company’s technology strategy and the design of their innovative antenna systems. Prior to Bridgeway, DeRodeff was vice president of broadband technologies for Covad Communications, where he managed network engineering, architecture and operations for Covad’s nationwide broadband access and VoIP products.
DeRodeff has led engineering and operations teams for several Bay Area companies. He was vice president of product development at Oracle, and was responsible for the creation of a vertical industry organization for communications and utilities. While at Oracle, DeRodeff also developed and released multiple products, including a unified messaging system that provided mobile and Web access to voice, fax and e-mail.
“Cloud9 Analytics’ technology platform is unique in the industry,” said DeRodeff. “We’re leveraging the power of a self-healing data warehouse to deliver on-demand analytic applications, completely eliminating the need for IT skills.”
